Return to work assessment

These assessments explore the biopsychosocial factors and obstacles to an individual returning to and remaining in work . They are completed by phone, video call or face to face at the workplace, a meeting room or the employee’s the home. Sue will identify how the obstacles can be addressed and provide a written report and action plan to support the individual to achieve a sustained return to work.

Vocational case management

Following assessment Sue provides vocational support planning and review of progress, preparing an employee for their return to work. She works with the employee to address any obstacles, build confidence and improve function.

She works collaboratively with employer, employee, treating practitioners and all key players to agree adjustments, return to work plans and arrangements - then closely monitoring the return, adapting the plan according to the employee’s progress, ensuring everyone is kept in the loop and any issues or concerns are quickly addressed.

Vocational redirection

Some people with health conditions may not be able to go back to their previous role and need assistance with what sort of work they would be best suited to. Sue works with these people using an individualised approach to explore with them their transferable skills, experience, preferences, aptitudes and aspirations in order to identify suitable alternative employment . She helps them to focus on possibilities and solutions , agreeing vocational goals and an action plan with steps towards these goals. Sue then supports them through these steps to return to work in their chosen career

Occupational therapy assessment and intervention

Sue carries out initial rehabilitation assessments, identifying what support or intervention is needed by the individual. She assesses function and delivers occupational therapy interventions such as activities of daily living and condition management
